What to expect

Before baby arrives - our planning session

We’ll meet in your home for a relaxed, in-depth conversation about what’s ahead. This might cover:

  • What to expect in the early days

  • Boundary setting and protecting your postpartum bubble

  • Village building — what does modern support actually look like?

  • How to organise a meal train with your community

  • How your partner can best support you

  • Rest, recovery and bonding

  • Breastfeeding goals

After baby arrives - your postpartum visits

Every visit is shaped around what you need on that day. This might look like:

  • Your Welcome Home Nourish Bundle - 2 home-cooked mains (4 -6 serves each), sweet and savoury snacks, and a nourishing drink

  • A home-cooked meal and snack at every subsequent visit, prepared in my kitchen with love

  • Foot soak and gentle massage - because you deserve to be nurtured too

  • Birth debriefing and unpacking your birth story

  • Listening without judgement - space to say the things you can’t say to anyone else

  • Helping you trust your instincts and find your own parenting rhythm

  • Newborn care - bathing, feeding, changing

  • Sibling support for a positive transition

  • Light domestic tasks and meal prep in your home

  • Running a bath, caring for your baby while you soak

  • “Every time Caitlin left I felt lighter and cared for. I felt seen, heard and ready to take on the week ahead.”

    - Hayley

  • “When she came over, we were the ones who felt hosted.”

    - Cle, mum of three

  • “One of the most helpful things was the nourishing, home-cooked meals. They were delicious, comforting, and perfectly tailored to postpartum needs.”

    - Gab, first time mum

  • “Caitlin helped keep some of the beauty of the postnatal experience alive for me, and for that I am eternally grateful.”

    - Jane

  • “…she included our other children in her care, and my partner also got lots out of talking to her about the transition to three kids…”

    - Cle

  • "Caitlin has the biggest heart, gives the best hugs and fills space with great warmth and an unassuming confidence"

    - Lauren

Common Questions

  • A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional and educational support to new parents in the weeks and months after birth. I don’t provide medical care, I provide practical help, emotional presence and evidence-based guidance while you find your feet.

  • My role isn’t to replace your partner, mum or bestie. It’s to complement them. I bring postpartum expertise, extra hands, and the perspective of an objective third party. Your partner gets to be your partner. I’ll handle the rest.

  • Anytime! Some families book in their first trimester, others reach out after baby arrives. The sweet spot is around the halfway point of pregnancy, it gives us time to connect properly before your planning session and makes sure you’re locked in before my availability fills up.

  • Every visit is different because every day is different. I’ll do a quick check-in on arrival, then shape the session around what you need, whether that’s cooking, emotional support, newborn care, light housework, or simply being a warm and steady presence while you rest.

  • A LOT! At your first postpartum visit I arrive with the Welcome Home Nourish Bundle - 2 home-cooked mains (4-6 serves each), sweet and savoury snacks, and a nourishing drink, all prepared in my own kitchen. At every subsequent visit I bring a home-cooked main and a snack. I can also cook from your pantry and help with meal planning during our sessions.

  • Yes! I want postpartum support to be as accessible as possible. Payment plans are available for both packages. Just mention it when you get in touch and we’ll sort something that works for you.

  • I’m based in Black Rock in Melbourne’s Bayside and service within 30mins travel from here. Not sure if you’re in my zone? Drop me a message and we’ll work it out.
